As basis for developing high-impact and sustainable programs and projects, Asiapro Foundation embarked on a nationwide survey in the latter part of 2016 to determine areas for improvement in the welfare conditions of its potential beneficiaries. The results revealed the following conditions:

• 65% of the members have not enjoyed the benefits of higher education. Those who reached high school comprise the biggest segment with 52%; 12% completed elementary; and 1% had no formal education at all. Only 25% were able to complete college and 10% had vocational training.
• Cooperative members from South Mindanao, NCR, and Northern Mindanao, in that order, were the poorest and can be considered as primary focus areas and target beneficiaries of the Foundation.
• The survey indicated insufficiency of income as a major concern for 59% of members. This was strongly felt in the following areas: Kidapawan City, General Santos City, and Surallah in South Cotabato.
• A significant number of members have had difficulties meeting the educational needs of their children, even though they are already enrolled in public schools.
• A significant number of respondents had no access to potable water (13.3%), sanitary latrines (11.5%) and electricity (7%).
• An overwhelming 82% of respondents indicated their need for an additional source of income.

With the data and information at hand, AFI has been developing and creating programs and activities in pursuit of its mission to alleviate poverty and address the needs of target cooperatve members. It has implemented the following projects and activities.
